Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Unclause ("the App", "we", "our") handles your information when you use our iOS application for contract analysis and generation. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Unclause is developed and operated by Dmitriy Karabetskiy ("Developer"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

• Contract text for analysis: When you submit a contract for analysis, the text content is transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate your report. This transmission is encrypted. The contract text is not stored on our servers.
• Contract generation inputs: When you use the contract generation feature, the parameters you enter (party names, amounts, dates, and other terms) are transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate your contract document. This data is not stored on our servers after generation is complete.
• App usage analytics: We collect anonymous, non-identifiable usage data via PostHog. This data cannot be linked to you personally and is used solely to improve the app.
• Purchase information: In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made but never see your payment details.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information
• We do not store copies of your contracts, documents, or generated contracts on our servers
• We do not access your camera roll, contacts, or any device data beyond what you explicitly share
• We do not track your location
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers
• We do not use your data to train AI models
• We do not retain images after OCR text extraction (deleted immediately by default)

4. How We Use Your Information

• Performing AI-powered contract analysis via the Anthropic Claude API
• Generating contract drafts via the Anthropic Claude API based on parameters you provide
• Analyzing counterparty revisions and comparing contract versions
• Processing in-app purchases through Apple's StoreKit
• Sending contract expiry notifications you have opted into
• Improving the accuracy and performance of our AI features via anonymous analytics

5. Contract Generation — Special Privacy Notice

Generated contracts are stored exclusively on your device using Apple Core Data. We do not retain copies of any contracts you create. If iCloud sync is enabled, your generated contracts are stored in your personal iCloud account — not on our servers.

Please be mindful of the sensitive nature of contract data and avoid including information that is not necessary for document generation.

6. Third-Party Services

Unclause uses the following third-party services:

• Anthropic API — Processes contract text for analysis and generates contract documents based on your inputs. Privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy.
• Apple App Store / StoreKit — Handles all in-app purchases and payment processing.
• Apple CloudKit — Optionally syncs your contract history and generated contracts across your own Apple devices. Data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to us.
• PostHog — Provides anonymous, aggregated analytics. No personally identifiable information is transmitted.

7. iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, your analysis reports, contract history, and generated contracts may be synced across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account. We cannot access, read, or modify your iCloud data. You can disable iCloud sync for Unclause at any time in iOS Settings.

8. Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymous analytics about how the app is used. The data collected is:

• Fully anonymous — no user identity is attached
• Aggregated — we see trends, not individual sessions
• Not sold or shared with any third party for marketing purposes
• Never includes contract content or generated document data

You can opt out of analytics in the App's Settings screen.

9. Children's Privacy

Unclause is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
